Function of W-Beam Guardrails:
I. Blocking: They can prevent vehicles and pedestrians from entering an area where they should not be.
II. Isolation: Separate cars, non-motor vehicles and pedestrians into different traffic lanes. Thus improving traffic safety for all.
III. Warning: they are usually installed with some sort of reflectors attached in order to alert drivers of their presence, particularly at night.
